Ask a QuestionGeneral Questions
How much does a boiler repair cost?
Boiler repairs start from £99 for emergency call-outs and from £149 for standard repairs. The exact cost depends on the fault, parts required, and boiler model. We provide fixed-price quotes with no hidden fees. See our full pricing guide.
How quickly can you come out?
For emergencies (no heating or hot water), we offer same-day service. For non-urgent repairs and installations, we typically schedule within 2-5 days depending on availability in your area.
Are your engineers Gas Safe registered?
Yes, absolutely. All Befix engineers are Gas Safe registered, meaning they are legally qualified to work on gas boilers and heating systems. You can verify any engineer's registration on the Gas Safe Register website.
Do you offer emergency boiler repair?
Yes, we offer same-day emergency boiler repair across London. If your boiler has broken down and you have no heating or hot water, call us and we'll send an engineer as quickly as possible.
What areas do you cover?
We cover all 32 London boroughs plus surrounding areas. Whether you're in North, South, East, West or Central London, we have Gas Safe engineers based near you. See all areas we cover.
Do you offer a warranty on repairs?
Yes. Every repair comes with a 2-year workmanship warranty covering all parts and labour. If the same issue recurs within the warranty period, we'll fix it free of charge.
Boiler Brands & Technical
Which boiler brand is best?
The best boiler depends on your needs and budget:
Worcester Bosch — Most reliable, up to 10-year warranty
Vaillant — Excellent quality, great for larger homes
Baxi — Best value, compact and reliable
Ideal — Budget-friendly with solid performance
Viessmann — Premium German engineering
We'll recommend the best option for your property during your free assessment. Compare all brands.
What is the difference between a combi, system and regular boiler?
A combi boiler heats water on demand and doesn't need a separate hot water cylinder or cold water tank — ideal for most homes. A system boiler works with a cylinder but not a tank — suited to larger homes with multiple bathrooms. A regular (conventional) boiler needs both a cylinder and tank — common in older properties.
How often should I service my boiler?
You should have your boiler serviced once a year. Annual servicing keeps your boiler running efficiently, identifies potential problems early, and is usually required to maintain your manufacturer's warranty.
My boiler keeps losing pressure — what should I do?
Frequent pressure loss usually indicates a leak in the heating system, a faulty pressure relief valve, or an issue with the expansion vessel. You can top up the pressure temporarily, but it's best to get an engineer to find and fix the root cause. Learn about our leak detection service.
Grants & Costs
Are there any grants available for a new boiler?
